First Blanket


I did it! It took me almost a whole year (and no, I didn't work on it consistantly - I took a 6 month hiatus), but I did it. I was absolutely ecstatic when I found this yarn because I thought it was ugly. You know...all the afghans you've ever seen are all ones your great grandmother made and they are ugly. I thought this yarn would be a good start to an ugly afghan, but this idea was ruined, though, when everyone started complimenting me on my yarn choice. The next one I make will have to be in a ripple pattern and alternate orange, brown, cream, and yellow. That will do it. And I don't think I can bring myself to call something an afghan unless it's ugly, so this is the blanket I made.That's the best I could do for a close shot.

I like the yarn choice, too. But I really like the exposed brick wall. Is that your house? Very cool.

Yep, we have the brick wall in our living room and dining room. We live in a townhouse so the brick wall is the shared wall.
