Flock Verse

Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him - for this is his lot.

Skimmers

I have a ridiculous attraction to shoes. I'm not going to start posting about shoes everyday or anything, but occasionally when I fall in love with a pair I know I'll never own ... I feel it's only appropriate that I give them a shout-out for all to see. It's the least I can do for a pair of shoes worthy to be worn (and proudly). Maybe one time one of you will fall in love with them, too, but actually be able to buy them and wear them. And if that does ever happen, please let me know (and borrow)!

View from when we were parasailing.

Some of the locals singing reggae.

Where we hung-out everyday.

How we felt about having to leave.

First Blanket

I did it! It took me almost a whole year (and no, I didn't work on it consistantly - I took a 6 month hiatus), but I did it. I was absolutely ecstatic when I found this yarn because I thought it was ugly. You know...all the afghans you've ever seen are all ones your great grandmother made and they are ugly. I thought this yarn would be a good start to an ugly afghan, but this idea was ruined, though, when everyone started complimenting me on my yarn choice. The next one I make will have to be in a ripple pattern and alternate orange, brown, cream, and yellow. That will do it. And I don't think I can bring myself to call something an afghan unless it's ugly, so this is the blanket I made. That's the best I could do for a close shot.

Here's the whole thing:
