The color is great...not too light, not too dark. It also seems that anything of a different material is "dressier" and I'm not sure I like that. I like the casual atmosphere we've created. This is the rug I first liked and found out last night that the color is too light. It's more of a cream color in person and doesn't have enough contrast with our light tile color. Plus, the pretty brown and red tones clash with our grayish/khaki furniture. El dang!Which led me to this rug. It's gorgeous! The dark brown is a chocolate brown and the lighter brown is like a creamy coffee color. It would definitely make our living room darker and look smaller, but it's so pretty that I just don't care. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't come in a big enough size. If only I'd checked before falling in love with it! I may get a smaller one for the front door just so I can have it somewhere.
I have two more in mind to check-out in person. I like the one with designs better, I think. I'm afraid that the borders on the other one will somehow add extra lines to the living room and make things look "off." I'm already dealing with weird angles and such (wow, I really sound like I know what I'm doing, huh?...too bad I don't!). The one with the designs comes in all the sizes I would like and I'm not sure about the one with the border. I'm sure I checked, but can't remember right now, oh well.
Regardless of what we end-up with, I need it to match our jute rug because we have one in our dining room. We're keeping that one because it doesn't get as much traffic and seems to keep itself together better than the other one. So, after all is done, I would like a new living room rug, a runner in the hallway, a rug for the entryway, and probably a new rug in front of the sink. We'll see if it all gets done before Bryan realizes what I'm doing and cuts me off!

Rug Mania
I've been obsessed with rugs lately and have let it completely consume my life. It's all I can think about; I am on a mission to replace the rug in our living room. We really like the rug we have, but it's made of jute and sheds like you wouldn't believe! It's like we have a dog! Here's the rug we have now:

Whole Foods Market
I've been trying to get new inspiration for taking my lunch to work (since my life is now sans friends that are chefs - and lacks all creativity and variety) and it's a little difficult. A girl can only eat so many pb&j sanwiches...seriously!
My last quest for inspiration consisted of heading over to the new Whole Foods Market down the street. I kinda had an idea of what to expect, but was pleased to confirm that it's just like a Central Market only smaller. How exciting! We spent about an hour in there just looking around and seeing all the yummy food (no comparison to the time spent by us girls in Dallas, though). We came out with some grapes, lettuce, asparagus, hummus, pita chips, and a few other things I think.

We've been searching for a place with good produce and we sure did find it! We tried the asparagus the next night and I ate more of that than I did chicken. Then the next day after the gym, we ate the whole bunch of grapes! ...and they were the kind that actually looked like the bunches you see in pictures!
So, for now I have new inspiration to eat healthy(ier) and bring my lunch to work. Yesterday I had a sandwich with whole wheat bread, peppered turkey from the deli, mild cheddar from the deli, and mayo with a fruit cup (that wasn't so good - stay away from the Great Value fruit cups - I swear there was Sweet-n-Low in there!). Today I brought a flavored tuna cup with red pepper hummus and pita chips. Can't wait for lunch!

Random Thoughts
Just a few things on my mind...
1.) Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line
2.) Al Gore's documentary on global warming
3.) "The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has annointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners," Isaiah 61:1
